April is Community College Month


       Drake State Celebrates Community College Month

April is National Community College Month, and Drake State is celebrating with various activities on campus.

          Career Week will be held April 9-12 and features the following events:

Monday, April 9 ­– Professional Wear Fashion Show, 10 a.m., Cafetorium

Tuesday, April 10 – Candid Careers, 10 a.m., Library

Wednesday, April 11 – Resume Assistance, 10 a.m., Library

Thursday, April 12 – Mock Interviews, 10 a.m., Library

          The 11th annual Car & Truck Show will be held Saturday, April 14, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the 400 Building parking lot.

          Dr. Helen McAlpine, president of Drake State, will meet with students on campus to hear their thoughts and share their experiences from their time at Drake State.  The meetings will be Tuesday, April 10, at 9:30 a.m. at the main campus in the cafetorium and Monday, April 16, at 9:30 a.m. at the downtown site.

          Drake State is holding a loose change collection to help support Foundation scholarships.  A receptacle for loose change will be set up in the Business Office for the remainder of the month.
