Woodbridge Group Tours Campus with AIDT Reps

Ronnie Smith and Ernest Colliers from the AIDT offices in North Alabama brought a very special guest to tour J.F. Drake State Community and Technical College on September 19, 2016. Renato Calazans, the Plant Manager with Woodbridge Group, joined by the AIDT officials and Dr. Mary Jane Caylor, Dean of Workforce Development, visited several areas of the college including HVAC, Industrial Robotics, Welding, Automotive, Machine Tool Technology and Cyber Security.

According to Mr. Calazans, the Woodbridge Group offers innovative urethane and particle foam technologies to serve the automotive commercial, military and recreational vehicle industries.  According to their website, their technology can even be found in protective packaging, healthcare and building products.  In addition to its manufacturing operations, Woodbridge offers a full complement of services including: chemical research and development, product and process engineering, tooling, technical support and accredited laboratory testing.

With its first plant in Woodbridge, Canada in 1978, The Woodbridge Group has grown throughout North and South America, Europe and Asia Pacific.  As they grow their corporation with the North Alabama location, Woodbridge is seeking the opportunity to partner with Drake State, and other area colleges, to find the employees necessary to produce quality products and services, as well as be on the forefront of the innovations and improvements that will carry the corporation’s vision forward.

Dr. Caylor commented “Drake State is proud to showcase our technical programs for the Woodbridge Group and is eager to support them with the training of employees who will make a difference.”
