STUDENT EXPECTATIONS: Adult education students are provided services at no cost to them; however, there are insufficient resources to provide adult education services to every eligible Alabamian. Even though the adult education program has been described as open-entry and open-exit, this is an often misunderstood term. Program officials expect that before enrolling in an adult education program, one must decide if sufficient commitment exists to attending classes on a sustained, consistent basis in order to achieve one’s goals. If not, then other avenues should be considered.
DISTANCE EDUCATION: Due to work schedules, family time, or other important commitments, some adult education students may not be able to attend adult education classes. For these students, GED Online may be the solution to improving their academic skills and earning their Alabama High School Equivalency Diploma. Enrolled students may access this instructional program from any location as long as they have access to a computer and the Internet.
