DRAKE ADMINISTRATOR COMPLETES DEANS ASSOCIATION PRESIDENCY

 

Huntsville, Ala. – Dr. Patricia Sims, Drake State Technical College student services management director, recently completed her year of service as president of the Alabama Deans of Student Affairs Association (ADSSA).

During her year of tenure, she was elected to co-chair the Commission on Students for the Alabama Community College Association and represented the Student Deans Association on the 2008 All-Alabama Academic Team.

The purpose of the ADSSA is to provide a forum for sharing information and ideas regarding issues impacting the System, contribute to the enhancement of postsecondary education, and promote continuous professional growth.

Her other professional development activities include co-chairing the State Committee on Nursing Admissions, co-chairing the Joint Policy Review committee, and representing Drake in the Administrator category of the Alabama Community College System’s Chancellor’s Award program.

Sims earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of West Alabama, a master’s degree from Alabama A & M University, and a doctorate from the Peabody College of Vanderbilt University.
