Huntsville, Ala. – Several Drake State
Technical College students recently won awards during the Phi Beta
Lambda business fraternity state leadership conference in Birmingham,
Alabama. Students majoring in office systems and accounting participated
in the competition.
Phi Beta Lambda is the post secondary
division of a national, non-profit organization comprised of students
preparing for business and business-related careers. State conferences
host competitions on business knowledge and skills.

The first and second place winners will
advance to the National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Georgia
scheduled for June 20 – 25.
Gwendolyn Pope, office systems instructor;
Deloris Smothers, computer systems instructor; and Dr. Verlindsey
Stewart, accounting instructor all served as advisors for the Phi Beta
Lambda students.
