DRAKE STUDENTS RECOGNIZED
DURING ALL-ALABAMA ACADEMIC TEAM PROGRAM

 

Huntsville, Ala. – Two Drake State Technical College students were recently recognized during the All-Alabama Academic Team program in Birmingham, Alabama. Mark Gladden and Jaime Maples were recognized for their academic and leadership achievements.

Mark Gladden, a Fayetteville, North Carolina native, majored in computer information systems and holds a 3.6 grade point average. After graduation, he plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in computer science at Alabama A & M University and become a Web site designer.

Jaime Maples, a Louisville, Kentucky native, majored in office systems and holds a 4.0 grade point average. Her future goals include pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration at Athens State University and owning a dress boutique.

The students were honored in front of almost 400 attendees including parents, families, college presidents, deans, and faculty from the Alabama Community College System.

The All-Alabama Academic team was founded in 1995 to complement the All-USA National Academic team which is sponsored by USA Today and the American Association of Community Colleges.
