Cosmetology Instructor Training (CIT) Program

The CIT program offers the following courses of study:


Program Description, Mission, and Objectives

Upon completion of a cosmetology program and the attainment of a license, which should be held and active for one year, students can enroll in Cosmetology Instructor Training Courses. Students enrolling in these courses must be proficiently skilled for entry-level employment in the field, successfully pass the Alabama Board of Cosmetology licensure examination and capably train students to become professionals in the field including abiding by all rules and regulations governing safe services for themselves and their clients. 

The fundamental mission of the program is to provide excellence in career training. This mission dictates that the program shows a concern for a diverse population by respecting its client’s values, traditions, and aspirations. It seeks to satisfy the employment and educational needs of the business and industry community.

Career Opportunities

A graduate of the Salon Management program can become employed as an instructor in the areas of cosmetology, esthetics, nail care and barbering at any technical or Beauty College with the required credentials.

Skills Needed

In order to be successful, a graduate should be able to apply knowledge of cosmetology to instruction, enjoy dealing with the public, and be able to follow a work with students.
