Caring Campus

Drake State is one of 10 community colleges across the U.S. selected for the Institute for Evidence-Based Change (IEBC) Caring Campus Initiative. Each faculty and staff member is dedicated to creating the best experience for every student, helping them overcome non-academic barriers to success and building strong connections. At Drake State, we give our students the tools, resources, and important information to excel and to feel safe, supported and heard.

A community for the future

With Huntsville’s unique blend of space and defense industries, biotechnology, healthcare and high-tech manufacturing, the community has high expectations for local educational institutions. Drake State rises to the challenge of anticipating workforce demands of the future by preparing highly-skilled workers with a mix of academics and technical training programs and grant funded initiatives.

Many of Drake State’s graduates have gone on to start their own businesses, including salons, machine shops, welding shops, IT services, heating and air conditioning businesses, and many others. Small businesses and skilled entrepreneurs wield a strong influence on economic development in the region.

Drake State is committed to preparing students with the right knowledge, set with the right training and skills, to go into the workforce immediately – a winning formula for the students, the community, and the economy.
