Drake State Cares About You!

College can be exciting, stressful, and challenging at times for many students. However, when students use the resources that are made available to them, the negative impact of these challenges can be minimized. Students at J.F. Drake State Community & Technical College are encouraged to make use of the services available to them through Counseling Services.

Counseling Services are available to assist with the following and more:

  • Crisis Intervention
  • Personal and academic issues
  • Adjustment to College
  • Stress and Anxiety
  • Vocational decisions and adjustments
  • Academic Advising (Note: While the faculty serves as primary advisors, the College Counselor provides supplemental services as requested.)

All counseling services are provided with your confidentiality in mind.  Referrals to agencies within the community are occasionally recommended, depending upon the nature of the concern.  For more information regarding Counseling Services, please visit the College Counselor located in building 700 Room 706 or call 256-551-1710.
