TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federal program free of cost to participants. The program provides opportunities for academic developments, assists students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education. The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants.
Students may be eligible if they are U.S. citizens or permanent resident who have been accepted for enrollment at Drake State and meet one or more of the following requirements:

Students may pick up an application from the TRiO office (Room 708). Please return your completed application to the TRiO office and schedule an interview with one of the program advisors.
TRiO students regularly meet with program staff for academic advising in relation to course selection, goal-setting, and available resources for success. Our advisors teach how to make the most of their college experience.
TRiO tutors are available each semester to meet with students on a ongoing basis.
Several workshops are offered each semester that help participants identify student success strategies and how to manage the demands of college life.
Each semester, TRiO takes a trip to increase cultural and academic awareness. Students will have the opportunity to visit 4-year institutions and experience learning through cultural activities.
TRiO participants have the privilege of using computers reserved for their use. We provide state-of-the- art computers, internet access, and a wide range of software.
