Drake State is proud to bring to campus Dr. Arthur "Art" Bacon, Ph.D. Dr. Bacon is a visual artist, activist, scientist, historian and scholar from Talledega, Ala. He will offer a two lecture sessions and his art will be on display. Lecture sessions are 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. and 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Among the long list of owners of Bacon’s paintings and drawings are; Bill Cosby, U.S. Congressman John Lewis and Hank Thomas. Others include: Alabama State University, Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, Mobile Museum of Art, Heritage Hall Museum, University of Maryland, Comer Museum, and Opryland. He has also been featured in Southern Living and Lakeside magazines, Black Art in America—an online journal--and other
