Beginning Fall 2021 semester, Drake State's new Child Care and Development program will offer current and aspiring day care teachers and aides the ability to earn a certificate which meets minimum requirements of Alabama Head Start and Child Care Standards.
"Child care professionals are vital in today's economy and people interested in that field are able to earn higher wages with formal and practical training," said Drake State Dean of Instruction Dr. Carolyn Henderson. "Drake State's program addresses an important workforce need and offers our students another career option."
While tuition at community colleges like Drake State is relatively affordable for most, there are scholarship opportunities available to students through the ACCS Leadership in Child Care Scholarship.
Anyone interested in registering for the program can apply for admission to the college at drakestate.edu. For more information about the program contact Dr. Carolyn Henderson at (256) 551-3122 or email email@example.com.
